BACKGROUND
As the enterprise platform expanded, each product team was building dashboards independently, resulting in inconsistent layouts, duplicated design work, and varying user experiences. Product teams needed a scalable dashboard framework that could support different business domains while remaining flexible enough for future products.
I was responsible for designing a reusable dashboard system that established consistent patterns for data visualization, information hierarchy, and interactions across the platform.
GOAL(S)
Create a scalable dashboard framework that could be adopted across multiple enterprise products.
Standardize dashboard layouts, components, and interaction patterns.
Help users quickly identify key metrics and take action with minimal cognitive load.
Build reusable design assets that accelerated future product development.
Ensure the framework could accommodate different data types and business use cases without redesigning dashboards from scratch.
DESIGN
I designed a modular dashboard framework built around reusable UI patterns rather than one-off screens. The framework established a clear visual hierarchy by separating high-level KPIs, actionable insights, charts, tables, and supporting content into predictable sections.
To maximize flexibility, I created reusable dashboard templates that could be configured for different products while maintaining a consistent experience. I also developed a library of dashboard components—including KPI cards, charts, tables, filters, empty states, and insight panels—that integrated with the enterprise design system.
Working closely with product managers and engineers, I validated layouts across multiple business scenarios to ensure the framework could support both existing products and future enterprise applications.
One of the most impactful additions to my workflow was incorporating AI-generated interactive prototypes early in the design process.
Instead of relying solely on static mockups, I created realistic prototypes that allowed product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to experience interactions before development began. This significantly accelerated design discussions, reduced ambiguity around complex behaviors, and shortened the feedback and review cycle across teams.
OUTCOMES
This project reinforced the value of designing scalable systems instead of individual screens. Leveraging AI-generated interactive prototypes accelerated design discussions, reduced ambiguity, and helped product, design, and engineering teams align more quickly throughout the review process.
That's the story behind this project.
